2020 Year In Review - August
⬅️ July | ⬆ Overview | ➡️ September
August mood, this was on a walk at 8:38PM on a Monday and yes that's a little tree growing out of that pile.
Early attempt at pizza marking with dough bought from my local bakery. Definitely some room for improvement, and I've learned a couple tips and need some more pizza photos to monitor progress.
August started with a Hike. The Germans and I went to go try to hike/climb the Lions. This involved waking up super early to book a spot on the trail for the day (thanks Germans for waking up early!) We didn't end up making it up to the top of the Lions, but made it to the bottom and the hike was actually really fun. My conclusion is hiking is OK as long as you have good company and good weather helps too.
Scenic view point #1, there may have been the Lions poking out of the clouds in the background, but my camera could not pick them up.
Alpine photo shoot with the common theme for the day - more clouds. 12:09PM, so it must have been lunch time.
First Kevinstagram Panorama in existence - lunch on the way back after we decided not to go to the top, so we weren't in a rush. Photo by Frauke S.
Then we did another hike with even more German friends (Mirko, Julie) up to Grouse for some disc golf believe it or not. I think August is where I got introduced to disc golf, and nowadays really enjoy it.
Then the Alex, Frauke, and I did one of my favorite classic multipitch climbs up the Apron - Over the Rainbow. It's mostly slab climbing, but there's some nice variety on it as well. I think they had fun, and I had lots of fun. After climbing we went for dinner and a couple of beers at Bilsa Sweets (well takeout and eat it in the park since you know... COVID,) in Squamish which was really nice. I really missed eating their great Indian food having not been since I lived in Squamish.
And finally, August had my first harvest of my pepper plant. The peppers are way too hot, but it's cool to have been able to grow them myself.
